Egg Tempera Paintings

Egg tempera is a very old, handcrafted painting medium using chicken egg yolk, pigment and water to make the paint.  Miranda Gray creates small egg tempera paintings that are seldom larger than 8” x 10”.  Although the medium is traditionally used for making religious icons, she takes this into the present, creating highly realistic images of the objects, humans, and animals in her world that she loves.
